Bailout: No oversight

Let me get this straight. Bush & Co want the taxpayers to shell out $700 BILLION dollars, and the actions of the Treasury Secretary are not reviewable by ANYONE (aka ‘Section 8′)???

Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.

How stupid does the government think we are? Sure, here’s a blank check. You’ve done a bang-up job so far, have some more money.

Christopher Dodd has proposed a different policy that strips out this “non-oversight” (Section 8)
